In 1943, the kibbutz relocated to the Negev and during the War of Independence, in 1948, while defending the vast expanses of the Negev Desert, the kibbutz was attacked by Egyptian forces and destroyed.  In 1952, the kibbutz relocated to its present position, between Petach Tikva and the Ben Gurion International Airport.  Be'erot Yitzchak is the religious kibbutz, closest to Tel Aviv.  Be'erot Yitzchak is home to over 500 people, new immigrants and veteran Israelis.
